Srinagar- Continuing its outreach in the winter capital to garner support, the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) will hold a meeting of its constituents in Jammu division next week to discuss among other issues the amalgam’s fight for the restoration of erstwhile state’s semi-autonomous status.
According to sources, the meeting will begin at 11:30 am on December 21 at the Bathindi residence of PAGD Chairman, Dr. Farooq Abdullah. The former J&K Chief Minister will chair the meeting in which the prevailing situation in the Union Territory will be discussed, sources said.
They said that the meeting has been convened to discuss several issues including their reach out to the Central government, civil society members and opposition parties in New Delhi regarding abrogation of Article 370.
Sources also said that the meeting will also discuss further course of action regarding a writ petition filed by its spokesperson M Y Tarigami in the Supreme Court regarding article 370. The ongoing delimitation process in Jammu and Kashmir and future strategy regarding the same, they said, is also on the agenda.
Senior leader and NC Parliamentarian, Hasnain Masoodi confirmed that a meeting is being convened in Jammu to discuss a range of issues.
He also said that the situation prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir will also be discussed in the meeting. (With KNS inputs)
