Srinagar: Relating issue of hike in LPG directly with the sustenance of life, the state secretary, CPI (M), M. Y. Tarigami today urged for adopting a resolution to urge the centre for roll back in the hike in LPG prices, adding that state government should devise ways and means to provide relief to the people on account of this burden. He asked the legislators to rise above party considerations to share the concern and worry of the common men on this account. He alleged that the hike in prices of LPG and Diesel is a fiction on the pretext of fiscal reforms just to benefit MNCs and big corporate Houses. He urged for mobilizing internal resources to lower the prices of LPG adding that if the House could not take some concrete step to lower the prices of LPG, it will be a great un-justice with the poor people of the state. He said people are suffering badly due to skyrocketing price rise of essential commodities and the hike in LPG has given a further blow to them.
He said that the price hike of LPG has facilitated hoarders to cause artificial scarcity of cooking gas. Enough is enough, M. Tarigami said while demanding that the concerned CA&PD department should act promptly to address grievances of the consumers.
