SOPORE- A talented cricketer from north Kashmir’s Sopore town who was injured in a road accident last week succumbed to his injuries in Srinagar hospital on Thursday.
Tariq Ahmed Mir (27), a well-known local cricketer from Janwara, Sopore had sustained critical injuries when his motorcycle (JK05B-5122) was hit by a speeding vehicle on Sopore-Bandipora road near Hathlangoo area. He was undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura and today he succumbed to his injuries.
The mishap had occurred on the first day of the current month. Police had already taken cognizance of the incident and registered a formal case in this regard.
A large number of people mostly sports lovers participated in the funeral of the deceased cricketer. (KNT)
