Srinagar- Two more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while 108 fresh cases of infection were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, the deadly infection claimed lives of two more people, one each from the Valley and Jammu division, taking the overall fatality count in J&K to 4483—2186 in Jammu and 2297 in Kashmir.
About the new cases of infection, officials said that 86 were detected in the Valley and the remaining 22 from different parts of Jammu division thus taking the number of people infected by virus in the UT to 337915.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 40 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 11, Pulwama 9, Ganderbal 7, Kupwara and Bandipora 6 each, Budgam 4, Anantnag 2 and Kulgam 1. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no new case of Covid-19 was confirmed.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 11 new cases, Doda 7, Rajouri 2 and one new case each from Kathua and Poonch districts. The five districts of Samba, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Ramban and Reasi reported no new cases of coronavirus.
“Moreover, 151 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 30 from Jammu Division and 121 from Kashmir,” they said.
