Srinagar- Over 200 more people, including 64 travellers tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, while no Covid-19 related death was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley registered 114 new cases of novel coronavirus while 88 others were detected from various parts of the Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 337646.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 49 cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 18, Budgam 12, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 9, Pulwama and Kupwara 6 each and Anantnag 3. Twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no new cases of infection.
In the winter capital, officials said, Reasi district reported a maximum of 61 new cases of Covid-19, all of them travellers. Jammu, officials said, reported 15 fresh cases, Doda 6, Rajouri 4 and one new case each in Kathua and Samba districts. No cases were detected in the four districts of Udhampur, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban.
“Moreover, 179 Covid-19 patients were recovered during the time, 36 from Jammu Division and 143 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, they said that the death toll due to the pandemic remained 4479 in J&K—2185 in Jammu and 2294 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported from the UT during the last 24 hours.
