Srinagar- Coronavirus claimed the lives of four more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday while 174 fresh cases of virus were reported across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, three more people succumbed to the deadly virus in Kashmir Valley while one person died of Covid-19 related complications in Jammu division, taking the overall fatality count to 4470 persons—2185 in Jammu and 2285 in Kashmir.
Of the new cases, officials said, 131 were registered in the Valley and the remaining 43 from different districts of Jammu division.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 63 new cases of virus, Baramulla 23, Budgam 17, Kupwara 13, Bandipora 9 and Ganderbal 6. The four districts of south Kashmir, including Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama and Shopian reported no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum 17 fresh cases of Covid, Doda 10, Poonch and Reasi six each and one new case each in Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua and Ramban. No cases of infection were reported from the twin districts of Samba and Kishtwar.
“Moreover, 157 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 26 from Jammu Division and 131 from Kashmir,” officials added.
