SRINAGAR: Three matches of the NIFF Youth League 2021 were played on Thursday at Synthetic Turf TRC here. Organised by J&K National & International Footballers Forum (NIFF), the Youth League has multiple Football Academies (FA) across Kashmir Valley participating in it.
The league has entered Day 5 with Round 2 of the competition.
The first match was the clash between Ganderbal FA and Tengpora FA Srinagar which won by Ganderbal FA 3-0. For FC Ganderbal first goal of the match was scored by Khurshid in 13th minute and two goals were scored by Shoaib in 21st and 69th minute of the match. Tajamul was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant exhibit of play.
Second Match of the day was played between Kupwara FA and Anantnag Stars FA which was won by Kupwara FA 1-0. Adnan Afzal scored the solitary goal in the 15th minute of the match. Player of the match was awarded to Zahid Ahmed.
In the third and last encounter of the day saw Qazinag FA Langate defeat Gungbugh FA by two goals to one. The first goal was scored by Ikhlaq Irshad, 2nd goal was scored by Firdous Manzoor in the first half of the match. From Gungbugh FA the only goal was scored by Tabish. The Player of the match awarded to Adil Manzoor Shiekh.
The League is first of its kind of initiative taken by NIFF for providing ample platform to junior age group players. All Player of the match awards carry ₹1500/- of cash and a memento which is being sponsored by New JK Roadways.
