Srinagar: Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir crossed 200-mark on Thursday while two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, two more people, one each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions died of coronavirus related complications on Thursday, raising the overall fatality count to 4459—2182 in Jammu and 2277 in Kashmir.
About the fresh cases of infections, the officials said 191were reported from the Valley and the remaining 32 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 334823.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 74 fresh cases, Baramulla 54, Pulwama 19, Kupwara 15, Ganderbal 14, Budgam 11, Bandipora 2 and one new case each in Anantnag and Shopian districts. Kulgam was the only district in the Valley where no fresh case was reported.
In the winter capital, officials said that Jammu registered a maximum of 11 new cases of Covid-19, Rajouri 9, Kathua and Reasi five each and 2 new cases in Doda district. The five districts of Udhampur, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban reported no cases of virus.
“Moreover, 153 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 18 from Jammu Division and 135 from Kashmir,” officials added.
