SRINAGAR: NIFF Youth Football League 2021 on Wednesday entered day 4 of its Round 1 (qualifiers) stage, with two matches played at Synthetic Turf, TRC here. The tournament is a first of its kind youth league with multiple Football Academies (FA) across Kashmir Valley participating.
The first match was played between Budgam FA and DPS FA Srinagar which ended in a 0-0 goalless draw, the teams shared a point each. Junaid Hamid was awarded player of the match by
chief guest of the match, Javed Sofi.
Second Match of the day was played between Etihad FA Pulwama and Kashmir Avengers FA that ended in a 2-2 draw. Player of the match award was given to Eithad’s Musharaf, who scored two goals for his team.
Both the MOTM awards carry ₹1500/- of cash prize and a memento which is being sponsored by New JK Roadways.
The League is a NIFF initiative to provide ample platform for junior age group players.
The Youth Football League is being organised by NIFF J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council. The League also has a collaboration with Department of Health J&K, who have provided an ambulance and a team of doctors to oversee on-field injuries during the tournament.
