Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the lives of three more people on Monday while 108 new cases of infection were registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, two more people from Kashmir and one from Jammu succumbed to the deadly infection during the last 24 hours. With these three deaths, the fatality count has reached 4453—2179 in Jammu and 2274 in Kashmir.
About the fresh cases of virus, officials said, 89 were reported from the Valley and the remaining 19 from different parts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 334288.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported 40 new cases, Baramulla 19, Ganderbal 11, Kupwara 6, four each in Budgam, Anantnag and Bandipora and one new case in Kulgam. The twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir reported no new cases of coronavirus.
In the winter capital, officials said that Jammu reported a maximum of 7 cases, Reasi 6, Poonch 4 and Doda 2 new cases of virus. Six districts of Ramban, Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba and Kishtwar registered no new cases.
“Moreover, 103 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 10 from Jammu Division and 93 from Kashmir,” officials added.
