Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir registered on Saturday 181 fresh cases of novel coronavirus even as no Covid-19 related fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 155 new cases of virus on Saturday while the remaining 26 were detected from various parts of the winter capital, taking the overall number of people infected by virus in J&K so far to 334006.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 44 cases, Baramulla 43, Budgam 23, Kupwara 17, Ganderbal 11, Anantnag and Bandipora six each, Kulgam 3 and Pulwama two new cases of virus. Shopian was the only district in Valley with no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, Jammu reported a maximum of 16 new cases, Udhampur and Doda three each, Reasi 2 and one new case each from Samba and Poonch districts. No fresh cases were reported from Rajouri, Kathua, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
“Moreover, 95 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 15 from Jammu Division and 80 from Kashmir,” they said.
Also, the official said that the death toll due to pandemic in J&K remained 4448—2178 in Jammu and 2270 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported on Saturday.
