Srinagar: Two more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, while 110 new cases of virus were registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, the deadly infection claimed lives of two more people in the Valley on Tuesday raising the overall fatality count across J&K to 4438—2176 in Jammu and 2262 in Kashmir.
About the new 110 new cases of Covid-19, the officials said that 92 were reported from Kashmir while the remaining 18 were detected from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by virus in the UT to3
32457.
In the Valley, the officials said Srinagar reported highest 42 new cases of Covid-19 followed by Baramulla with 21, Ganderbal 11, Budgam 5, Kupwara and Anantnag four each, Bandipora 3 and one new case of virus each in Pulwama and Shopian districts. Kulgam reported no fresh cases.
In the winter capital, officials said Rajouri and Poonch reported five new cases each, Jammu 4, Udhampur 2 and one new case each in Doda and Reasi districts. Four districts of Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban reported no fresh cases of coronavirus.
“Moreover, 91 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 15from Jammu Division and 76 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
They further said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today.
