Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Thursday 98 fresh cases of coronavirus, while 72 more people recovered from the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 91 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining seven from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 331963.
Giving district-wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported highest 50 cases, Baramulla 17, Budgam 11, Kupwara 5, Ganderbal 4, Anantnag 3, and one new case each in Bandipora and Kulgam districts. No fresh case was reported in twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir.
Similarly, the officials said, Jammu reported 3 cases, Doda 2 and Rajouri and Reasi districts one new case each of coronavirus. Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban districts reported no fresh cases.
Also, officials said that one more person succumbed to virus in Kashmir Valley on Thursday taking the fatality count in J&K to 4432—2176 in Jammu and 2256 in Kashmir.
“Moreover, 72 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including15 from Jammu Division and 57 from Kashmir Division,” the official spokesperson said.
