Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested two persons along with 283 bottles of codeine phosphate, meant for sale to the youth from south Kashmirs Pulwama district.
A police official said that a routine Naka headed by Station House Officer at Wagum near Degree College intercepted two persons who were carrying apple boxes on their shoulders.
During the searches, the police team found 283 bottles of codeine from the apple boxes the official said.
He said that the codeine bottles were seized and the two persons identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat and Sajad Ahmad Malik have been arrested.
A case FIR 248/2014 u/s 8/22 NDPS Act have been registered against them and further investigations taken up, the official added.
