Srinagar: A family of four members were rendered homeless on Wednesday after their houseboat sank in the river Jhelum at Abi Guzar on Wednesday.
According to the news agency, CRPF personnel and River police rescued all family members and no one was injured in the incident.
Owner of house boat Muzafar Ahmed Gasi told news KNO that his houseboat has got damaged completely and he has been rendered homeless along with other family members.
“We appeal to the administration for rehabilitation as we don’t have any other place to live. I have two small kids with me,” he said. “The house boat he was living in costs Rs 4 lakh. If somehow it will get repaired fully it will cost of Rs one lakh to repair it.” (KNO)
