SRINAGAR: The JKFA Khyber Premier Division Football League 2021 witnessed two matches played on Monday at Synthetic Turf, TRC here.
ARCO FC beat Kashmir Avengers 2-1, while Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) XI defeated Food & Supplies (F&S) XI 2-0.
The first match between ARCO and Avengers proved to be a tight affair between the two teams. ARCO’s Mehraj gave his team the lead in 29th minute. ARCO then scored their second goal through Kashif in the 42nd minute of first half.
ARCO defended astutely, but Kashmir Avengers pulled a goal back in the 74th minute through Kelvin. The goal put some pressure on their opponents, however, ARCO held on to win the match 2-1. Mehraj of ARCO FC was declared man of the match.
In the second Premier League match of the day, Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) XI defeated Food & Supplies (F&S) XI by two goals to nil.
The match between the two departmental teams proved to be a one sided affair, as JKPDC managed to scored a goal in each half to comfortably ride out the game.
The first goal was scored by Mehran Dar in the 8th minute, while Zaffar doubled JKPDC’s lead in the 47th minute. F&S did create opportunities but failed on capitalise on any of them. Adil Hussain Mir of F&S XI was named man of the match for his brilliant performance.
The JKFA Premier Division League is broadcast live on ANN News channel. The League is organised by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
