Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 75 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 63 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley on Monday and the remaining 12from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 331137.
Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported highest 39 cases followed by Baramulla with 10, Kupwara 4, Pulwama and Anantnag 3 each, Kulgam 2 and one new case each in Budgam and Ganderbal districts. No fresh case was reported from Bandipora and Shopian districts in the Valley.
In the winter capital, the officials said that Jammu reported a maximum of 7 cases, Doda 3 and one new case each in Ramban and Reasi. Six of the districts Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar and Poonch reported no cases of virus on Monday.
Also, the officials said that 100 more patients have recovered—12 from Jammu Division and 88 from Kashmir.
Meanwhile, two more people died of coronavirus related complications in Jammu and Kashmir. So far 4428—2175 in Jammu and 2253 in Kashmir—have died due to the deadly infection
