Srinagar: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Prof Saifudin Soz on Monday claimed that top key National Conference leaders joining BJP reveals (PM) Modi’s response to the Kashmir situation and according to senior politician, “worst phase” in Kashmir is yet to come.
On Monday, a day after resigning from the National Conference, Devender Rana, the former head of its Jammu division, along with another party leader Surjit Singh Slathia joined the BJP.
Shortly after his joining over 17 more leaders resigned from the party and conveyed their support to Devender Singh Rana. All are expected to join BJP in coming days.
While reacting to the development, Prof Soz said, Rana’s exit from the National Conference and his joining the BJP reveals a larger plot that characterises “Modi’s organised response” to the Kashmir situation.
“This response has a sub-plan of dealing with border areas like Karnah, Keran, Gurez, Tulail, Kargil and Ladakh areas, with special care,” he said in a statement.
Prof Soz said Rana’s resignation is just “tip of the iceberg” and more is expected from the BJP, Soz told Kashmir Observer.
“PM Modi and his team are working hard on Kashmir and they will do these things. They will do it more,” he said.
Earlier in a press statement Soz alleged that the BJP’s effort was to restructure the life of individuals like a former MLA of Gurez, who according to him, has now undertaken the task of safeguarding the interests of the BJP in that border area.
”A larger plan to tackle Kashmir over a period of time, is receiving attention from Modi and Amit Shah, on priority basis,” he said adding that “The money factor of the BJP’s plan happens to be the most obvious aspect of this gigantic effort”, it reads.
He further states that a million dollar question is whether the “Kashmir Mainstream Group” has any response to it or else it will continue to issue statements to no effect.
“That, in nutshell, means that if we have fallen to bad times, the worst phase is yet to come”, Soz claimed.
