Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday recovery of 95 more coronavirus infected persons while 53 new cases of virus were reported from the Union territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, the trend of recoveries continued in J&K on Monday as 95 more patients recovered—10 from Jammu and 85 from Kashmir from the deadly infection. During the same time, they said, the UT reported 53 fresh cases—44 from Kashmir and 9 from Jammu, taking the overall number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K last year to 330586.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 22 fresh coronavirus cases followed by Budgam with 8, Kupwara 6, Baramulla 5, Ganderbal 2 and Pulwama one new case of Covid-19. No fresh cases of virus were reported from Anantnag, Bandipora, Kulgam and Shopian districts.
In the winter capital, the officials said four new cases of virus were reported from Jammu and Rajouri district while one case was detected in Poonch. Seven districts of the region, including Udhampur, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi reported no new cases of Covid-19.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to Covid-19 remained 4426—2174 in Jammu and 2252 in Kashmir, as no fatality was reported from the UT during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued here, an official spokesperson said that seven districts in J&K— Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Samba, Anantnag, Shopian, Budgam have achieved 100% first dose vaccine coverage for the age group of above 18 years old.
