Militants escape police dragnet in Srinagar
Srinagar: Two policemen were injured after militants attacked a police party in Manzgam village of southern district of Kulgam on Saturday while an encounter that broke out late Friday night in Srinagar outskirts was called off early on Saturday after militants managed to flee from the spot.
Police said militants attacked a police party in Manzgam area of Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam in which two policemen received bullet injuries.
“Both were shifted to SDH DH Pora where their condition is out of danger,” the official said.
They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad and Imran Ahmad both SPO’s.
According to Block Medical Officer D H Pora Gulzar Ahmad Dar both policemen sustained bullet injuries but were out of danger.
Police meanwhile said the area has been cordoned off and hunt has been launched to nab the attackers,
Meanwhile an encounter that broke out late Friday night in Methan area of Srinagar was called off early morning Saturday as militants managed to flee from the spot.
A police official said militants managed to give a slip after the initial exchange of fire.

Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday had killed a militant in a brief encounter at Natipora area of Srinagar on Friday evening.
