Srinagar: The fire victims of Parimpora fire blaze on Friday appealed to the Government to extend all possible help to them as they have lost everything to the devastated fire.
The fire victims said that 55 houses and 11 sheds were gutted in the devastated fire incident that occurred in Sheikh Colony in Fruit Mandi Parimpora on Thursday.
The victims said that the fire spread thick and fast, not giving people any time to save their belongings. “We have lost everything. Winter is approaching and it worries us,” they said.
The victims said that firefighters did their best to control the fire but when fire was brought under control, 66 structures had turned into ashes.
One of the victims who had recently tied the knot said that he lost everything and has nothing in hand right now.
Over 100 families were residing in these 66 structures. Some labourers who were staying on rental basis said that they lost their earnings.
“We are pinning hope on the government now. We appeal to the government to extend financial assistance to us,” they said.
