SRINAGAR: Calling the recent killings of teachers as ‘deplorable’, Joint Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Shams-ud-din Bhat, said the spate of unfortunate incidents resulting in the loss of precious human lives must be called out.
Bhat was speaking at a condolence meeting held by the staff members of the SCERT at the divisional office here in Bemina.
“Every human heart is touched by this tragedy of epic proportions,” Bhat said. “At this hour of grief and sorrow, we stand by the families of the victims and express our heartfelt condolence.”
Earlier, the staff members observed a minute’s silence for the victims of violence and prayed for their eternal peace.
Masked gunmen had barged into the premises of the Government Boys Higher Secondary school in Eidgah on Thursday morning and shot at principal Satinder Kour and teacher Deepak Chand killing them on the spot.
