9 JKSC trainees selected for J&K Women’s Senior team
SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has hailed nine of its female Cricket Academy trainees for their selection in J&K Women’s Senior team.
Eight girls from Kashmir Valley and one from Jammu have been selected to represent the J&K’s Senior Women’s team in the upcoming Domestic Season 2021-22.
“The selected girls include Rubiya Syed, Bisma Hassan, Bushra Ashraf, Abriq Zahoor, Mehak Sofi, Sheeraza Bano, Ananya Sharma, Laali Jan and Iqra Rasool,” a JKSC statement said.
“Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull has congratulated the selected players and applauded the role of Cricket Academy Team working behind the scenes for their dedication and hard work in training the girls,” the statement said.
“Nuzhat Gull wished team a grand success and assured girls all her support in future too. She also informed that J&K Sports Council is soon going to organise a mega cricket tournament exclusively for female cricketers,” it added.
Pertinently many male and female trainees of Sports Council Cricket Academy have made it to JKCA U-19 teams. Although the JKCA U-19 boys’ team ended its Vinoo Mankad Trophy in a disappointing fashion, failing to win any of their four matches, the Women’s team on the other hand has played 4 and won two matches in the Under-19 One Day Trophy 2021-22.
The senior domestic matches are set to begin in October.
