Srinagar: Police Sunday said that it arrested a drug peddler in Mangnipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement, police said that acting upon a specific information a joint police party of P/S Bandipora and PP Aloosa led by SHO PS Bandipora Insp. Showkat Ahmad Mir and IC P P Aloosa S.I Shakeel Ahmad under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Mohammad Idrees JKPS established a Naka at Mangnipora crossing. During checking a motor cycle bearing registration no JK05B-2912 driven by a person namely Abdul Lateef Rather s/o Mohd Munawar Rather R/o Gamroo Bandipora and pillion rider namely Ishfaq Ahmad Rather S/o Abdul Rashid Rather R/o Madar Bandipora was stopped. The driver of the motor cycle manged to escape from spot and pillon rider was apprehended. During the search of the said motor Cycle, 2800 capsules of SPASMO-PERYMON and 32 capsules of teemi-spas were recovered.
“During the preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied by both the accused’s to youth of area to make them drug addict.”
“A FIR was registered under relevant sections of NDPS at P.S Bandipora and further investigation taken up.”
