Defeats Syed Tajuddin FC 2-1

SRINAGAR: Jehlum FC on Thursday defeated Syed Tajuddin FC 2-1 in the first semi final match of DFA Srinagar Super Division being played at Synthetic Turf, TRC here.
A neck-to-neck contest, the match-up saw two equally balanced teams battle it out for the ultimate prize of Premier Division 2022 qualification.
The match was filled with both teams creating goal scoring opportunities, and in the 28th minute Jehlum FC managed to take the lead through Rizwan. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of team Jehlum.
In the second half both teams tried to come out on top. With a goal behind, Syed Tajuddin players upped the ante and were rewarded with the equalising goal in the 63rd minute.
With the match hanging in balance at 1-1, and with full time whistle and penalties looming, Jehlum FC team made a scintillating move in the dying moments of the match to score a last-gasp winner.
Jehlum FC players surrounded the goal scorer Akib in joy and jubilation as soon after, the match ended 2-1 in their favour.
With this victory the Jehlum FC reached the Super Division finals and will now await the result of the other semifinal match between Real Kashmir FC (U-18) and Galaxy FC, the schedule of which is yet to be decided.
The top two teams, that is, the finalists will earn promotion to the Premier Division League 2022.
Srinagar A-Division: Two Matches Played
Over in A-Division, two matches were played on Thursday at Gindun Ground, Rajbagh.
The first match of A-Division league was played between Young Boys FC and Flying Kashmir FC. Both teams played goalless draw. The second match was played between Al-Ahlam Fc and Al-Qudus FC. Al- Ahlam FC won the match 3-1.
Premier Division 2021 From Today
The Khyber Premier Division League 2021 is all set to kick off on Friday at the Synthetic Turf, TRC in Srinagar. The inaugural match of the Valley’s top most league will see Downtown Heroes take on J&K Bank Academy, with kick off at 4:00 PM.
