Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 148 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while the deadly infection claimed the life of one more person in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 120 new cases of Covid-19 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 28 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 328738.
In Valley, the officials said, Srinagar reported highest 66 cases followed by Baramulla with 17, Ganderbal 9, Budgam 8, Kupwara 6, Anantnag and Pulwama 5 each, Bandipora 2, and one new case each in Kulgam and Shopian districts.
In the winter capital, 10 cases were reported from Doda, 6 each from Jammu and Rajouri, Reasi 4 and Ramban 2, officials said. No cases of coronavirus were reported from the five districts of Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar and Poonch.
During the same time, officials said, 159 more patients have recovered—29 from Jammu and 130 from Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the deadly infection claimed the life of one more person in Kashmir Valley on Friday, raising the death toll to 4420—2172 in Jammu and 2248 in Kashmir.
