Srinagar: Coronavirus cases continue to show an upward trend as 170 more people tested positive for the virus on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir while 98 others recovered from the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 129 fresh cases of novel coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 41 from Jammu division thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K last year to 327466.
Giving district-wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 70, Baramulla 12, Budgam 27, Pulwama 5, Kupwara 5, Bandipora 3 and Ganderbal 7 new cases of Covid. Three districts of south Kashmir, including Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian reported no new cases of virus.
Similarly, Jammu reported 10, Reasi 19, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 5, Doda 4 and Kishtwar 2 fresh cases, while no case was detected in Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Ramban districts of the Jammu division, they said.
Moreover, officials said, 98 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—12 from Jammu and 86 from Kashmir.
The officials also said that no coronavirus related death was reported on Thursday. So far 4415 people have died— 2169 in Jammu division and 2246 in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, there was one fresh confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today, they said. So far 46 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials added.
