Srinagar: The administration in the mountainous district of Kargil have announced reopening of schools up to primary level from September 1.
The decision to reopen the schools for classes 6th to 8th from September 1was taken by Santosh Sukhadeve, District Magistrate, Kargil, in view of the improved Covid-19 situation in the district and keeping in view the various representations received by the administration seeking the resumption of class work.
The concerned head of the institutions shall ensure that Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the district administration and the Chief Education Officer, Kargil are followed in letter and spirit,” reads an order issued by Sukhadeve on Sunday.
“Any violation of these orders shall invite action under Section 188 of IPC, Disaster Management Act 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897,” it adds.
