Srinagar: Police Friday foiled the march of Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir Chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah and arrested him along with his associates. Shah according to reports soon after addressing a gathering in Central Kashmirs Kangan town of Ganderbal district tried to take out a march, however, police swung into action and bundled him and his associates in police vehicles and lodged him police station.
HCJK spokesperson said that Shah sustained injuries during the police action, a charge refuted by police.
Earlier, Shah in his address to gathering India cant mislead the youth of Kashmir through its false propaganda against the ongoing freedom movement. Our youth know everything and they are the torch bearers of this struggle against India, he said.The gathering was also addressed by other leaders of the organization including Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Yasin Ataai and Bilal Ahmad Shah.(CNS)
