Srinagar: Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a slight increase on Friday as 159 more people tested positive, while another person succumbed to the virus in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases detected Friday, officials said, 123 surfaced in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 36 were confirmed from the winter capital thus taking the overall number of cases reported since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 323951.
Giving district-wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 29, Baramulla 8, Budgam 4, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 14, Anantnag 25, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 8, Kulgam 22, Jammu 10, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 6, Doda 14, Samba 1, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 2 and Ramban 1 new case of Covid-19. Three districts of Kathua , Reasi and Shopian reported no new case of virus.
Also, the officials said that 126 more coronavirus infected patients have recovered—64 from Jammu division and 62 from the Valley.
The officials also said that one more succumbed to the virus in Jammu division on Friday, taking overall fatality count in J&K to 4401—2161 in Jammu and 2240 in Kashmir.
