SRINAGAR: A pall of gloom descended in a North Kashmir village after a mother and her son were electrocuted while another person suffered cardiac arrest after a electric wire which has snapped was lying on the road side.
Reshma Begum, 50, of Kralpora village in Kupwor was in the market to buy essentials where the electric line was left unattended on the road side due which she got electrocuted. After witnessing the scene, her son Bilal Ahmad rushed towards the spot to save her mother but he too got electrocuted and died.
Reports maintained that the son while witnessing the scene suffered the cardiac arrest after which he was shifted to the hospital wherein his condition continues to remain critical.
The locals while accusing the PPD of being responsible for the killing of two persons held protest demonstrations on the road.
Later police registered the case and initiated investigations in to the matter. Station House Officer Kralpora said that police has registered FIR against PDD and has started investigations into the case.
