Srinagar- Gunmen on Friday evening shot dead a government employee in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that a man identified as Javaid Ahmad Malik (35), son of Ghulam Mohammad Malik of Lurgam village in Tral was fired upon by unidentified gunmen this evening.
They said Mir was rushed to the Sub District Hospital Tral for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Malik was a government employee working in the Education Department, the official said.
A police official confirming the incident said that a case has been registered and investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, police on its official twitter handle wrote; “#Terrorists fired indiscriminately upon a #civilian identified as Javeed Ah Malik near his house at Larugam #Tral, #Awantipora. He was shifted to hospital for treatment where he #succumbed to his injuries. Area cordoned off. Search in the area is going on to nab the #terrorists.“
