Residents Seek Macadamisation To Avoid Accidents
SRINAGAR: A road stretch at Shah Mohalla, Nawabazar near SMHS hospital has become a death trap for commuters due to its deplorable and dilapidated condition.
It has been often seen that auto-rickshaws ferrying patients to hospitals overturn and two-wheelers skid, causing injuries to commuters, the local resident said.
The road was cut by the PHE Department for argumentation of water supply in the area two months ago for which necessary approval was given by concerned R&B department and all requisite official formalities were completed, including deposition of fee for road cut.
“But due to lack of coordination among concerned government departments the said road stretch of hardly 10 square feet is not being repaired and people face a lot of inconvenience,” the locals added.
They said that though the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities but till date no action has been taken.
The residents appealed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures including macadamisation at an earliest to avoid frequent road accidents in the area.
