PULWAMA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Choudary, on Tuesday inaugurated one week long self-defense camp (Boxing, Martial Arts) for girls.
The event was kick-started in presence of Principal GDC and was organized by Department of Physical Education in collaboration with Women Development Cell, at GDC Pampore.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the camp will provide opportunity for girls to learn self-defense techniques. He said apart from their studies, girls should actively participate in such programmes and such types of co-curricular activities shall also be conducted across the district.
On the occasion experts highlighted the importance of Martial Arts for maintaining physical and mental fitness as well.
