Srinagar: A group of students from Central University, Kashmir Monday alleged that the varsity has failed to provide the provisional “Merit Scholarship” of first two toppers of every department for the last few years.
To promote competitiveness among the students, the University provides scholarships to the students registered for various programmes of study under the scheme “Merit Scholarships”.
Under this scheme, two meritorious students, determined on the basis of their End Semester result from each programme, are provided a fellowship of Rs. 5000 per semester.
However, the students told Kashmir Observer that since 2018, the University failed to do so.
Vice Chancellor, CUK, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir told Kashmir Observer that he will look into the matter and sort it out.
