SRINAGAR: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference M Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday termed the silence of Muslim world and United Nations over the mass murder of innocent Palestinians by the Israeli state as criminal and regrettable.
In a statement here Mirwaiz said: The bombing of UN declared schools acting as camps for the displaced Palestinians show the helplessness of the international body.
UN was created to defend the victims and put a check on the aggression of world powers. However, it is highly unfortunate that the UN has played no role in resolving the international conflicts like Palestine Kashmir and other issues has always expressed helplessness and powerlessness.
He said that UN has been reduced to a an agency working full time for the interests of powerful countries, adding, it is at the forefront to justify the wrong deeds and aggression of powerful countries.
UN has always hesitated to solve the Kashmir and Plestinian disputed thus adding to their miseries and sufferings. Both the nations pose a threat to world peace and stability, Mirwaiz said. World powers who always preach democracy and human rights instead of helping people in Gaza are ironically helping the occupier Israel with money and weapons to kill children and people of Palestine. This show the double standard of the world powers visa vis human rights and justice.
