Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 498 fresh cases of coronavirus while the deadly infection claimed lives of seven more people across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
While Kashmir Valley reported 289 new cases of infection on Friday, the remaining 209, officials said were confirmed from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of virus last year in J&K to 313974.
Giving district-wide details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 82, Baramulla 35, Budgam 31, Pulwama 13, Kupwara 44, Anantnag 21, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 16, Kulgam 29, Shopian 3, Jammu 10, Udhampur 9, Rajouri 11, Doda 25, Kathua 4, Samba 2, Kishtwar 19, Poonch 16, Ramban 17 and Reasi 96 fresh cases of Covid-19.
Moreover, they said, 871 more patients have recovered in the last 24 hours—334 from Jammu Division and 537 from Kashmir.
About the seven more fatalities, the officials said that five were reported from Jammu division while two more people succumbed to the virus in Kashmir Valley. With these deaths, the overall fatality count reached 4291 across the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, the officials also confirmed one new case of mucormycosis (black fungus), bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 28 in J&K.
