Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police said on Wednesday that four people were arrested and a fine of over Rs5.72L was recovered from 3865 others during its ongoing driver against the people violating coronavirus rules across the Kashmir Valley.
“During the last 24 hours, police have arrested 4 persons, lodged 2 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 5,72,435 from 3865 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines, rules regarding Covid-19,” a police spokesperson said Wednesday.
The special drive against the violators, he said, continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
“Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures,” the police spokesperson added.
