Srinagar – To expedite the implementation of road widening project at Pantha Chowk Bye Pass, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon Saturday afternoon convened a high level meeting of all concerned authorities to review the progress of the project.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan was also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed threadbare various aspects of the project and was given out that the land and structure acquisition process shall be commenced after first High Level Committee (HLC) meeting which is scheduled to be held on October 11, 2012.
A 5-member Task Force Cum Assessment Committee headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner has also been constituted which shall furnish cases to HLC for quick and timely resolution.
It was also informed in the meeting that detailed project report has already been formulated and Chief Minister of the State has released token money for starting the work.
It was further given out in the meeting that as many as 93 structures, 231 shops and 53 choolas shall be affected in the road widening project.
The meeting also informed that state land has been identified at Khonmoh Srinagar for rehabilitation of affected families.
Among others, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Deputy Director, Srinagar Development Authority, Chief Town Planner, Engineers of BRO and Revenue Officers were present in the meeting.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner met various public deputations who called on him.
Dr. Samoon gave them a patient hearing and instructed the concerned officers to redress their grievances.
