Srinagar: A technical snag at a grid station in Shareefabad area of the city outskirts plunged many parts of this capital city in darkness on Saturday.
According to the reports, power supply was affected in most parts of Srinagar, especially the Old City after a technical snag was reported at the 132 KV Shareefabad grid station on Saturday evening.
“Power supply to the Hospitals has been restored via alternate lines.However, due to fault in 220kV Wagoora line in R-phase Most of city areas shall remain affected till the fault is rectified by @JkptclK,” KPDCL tweeted from its official handle.
An hour later, JKPTCL tweeted about the technical snag as several areas remained in darkness.
“220 kV Wagoora -Zainakot TL went off due to E/F due to its cascading effect Alustang GSS & GSS Budgam went OFF as well . Men on job in restoration it might take an Hr to stablize the whole power,” the tweet read.
Meanwhile, Chief Engineer, Aijaz Ahmad Dar was quoted by a local news agency as saying that men and machinery has been pressed to repair the fault.
“The partial restoration of electricity will be made within one hour while it will be restored completely within three to four hours,” he said.
