Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Thursday 67 more coronavirus related deaths while 4169 people tested positive for virus across the Union territory during the last 24 hours
Officials said that 41 fatalities were reported from Jammu division and 26 from Kashmir Valley thus taking the death toll since the outbreak of pandemic in J&k last year to 3422.
Among the victims from the Valley, officials said included a 72-year-old woman from Aloochi Bagh here, who died five days after she was admitted to CD hospital here. Besides her, a 70-year-old woman from Tral died at District Hospital Pulwama and a 59-year-old woman from Bomai, Sopore died at SKIMS Soura, a day after she was admitted to the hospital.
Two elderly women from Aung and Qazigund also succumbed to the virus at the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, officials said.
Also, a 56-year-old man from Baramulla died at GMC Baramulla, nine days after he was admitted to the facility. A 70-year-old man from Pampore and a 75-year-old Nowpora Srinagar died at hospital in Srinagar, they added.
Regarding the fresh cases, officials said, Jammu reported 1518 cases and 2651 from Kashmir Valley, taking the number of people infected across the UT to 260057.
Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 674, Baramulla 333, Budgam 393, Pulwama 187, Kupwara 206, Anantnag 255, Bandipora 215, Ganderbal 117, Kulgam 206, Shopian 65, Jammu 499, Udhampur 180, Rajouri 158, Doda 79, Kathua 174, Samba 117, Kishtwar 55, Poonch 56, Ramban 124 and Reasi 76 new cases of coronavirus.
The number of active cases stands at 50,554 while 2,06,081 patients have recovered from the infection so far, officials said.
