Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has put adequate arrangements in place to deal with any kind of situation that may arise due to the second wave of Covid-19 in Kashmir division, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole said Wednesday.
Pole made these remarks during his visit to Bandipora where he took stock of Covid containment measures and made on spot and detailed inspection of various medical and healthcare facilities associated with Covid management in the district, an official spokesperson said.
He said that the Div Com described the situation “fully under control” in the district as adequate measures have been taken for strengthening the system to fight the war against Covid-19 and in this regard bed capacity has been augmented at various health facilities and Covid care centers in the district besides making High Flow Oxygen Plant functional at Covid Level-III Hospital.
“He said there have been very few referrals from Bandipora to Srinagar Hospital that speaks volumes about the robust mechanism put in place in the district,” he added.
As per the official spokesperson, Pole said that patients in home isolation are also taken care of and Covid-19 care kits are being provided to positive patients for their better treatment.
“He said the administration is providing intensive care to the patients in Home isolation so that they are provided treatment at their home and only critical patients are referred to triage centre when needed,” he added.
He further said that the Div Com urged people to adhere to Covid related SOPs and guidelines in letter and spirit terming it an imperative and effective way to stop the spread of the virus.
He further appealed people to remain watchful and comply with all government “instructions religiously for containment of Covid- 19 during the ongoing second wave,” the official spokesperson said.
Earlier, the Div Com inspected District Hospital Bandipora that has been designated at Covid Level-III Hospital, Triage Centre, Oxygen Plant, Dialysis Centre and District Control Room and took a detailed stock of medical infrastructure besides the augmentations being made for effective mitigation of the pandemic here. At District Hospital Bandipora, he inspected the newly commissioned 1000 LPM oxygen plant and reviewed its functioning briefly.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad, Medical Superintendent, Nodal Officer COVID Hospital Kashmir, Deputy Director Health, Nodal Officer COVID Bandipora, District Epidemiologist and other concerned Officers accompanied the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the official spokesperson said.
