Srinagar: Floods caused by incessant rains for last couple of days has cut off a remote village from north Kashmirs Kupwara district, official sources said Friday.
They said that incessant rains also caused damage to a Government Boys Primary School at Mitbagh and washed away a local foot-path bridge connecting it with Kalaroos.
As a result of washing away of the bridge, they said, Mori village comprising of about 1200 souls is cut off from rest of the Kupwara.
Besides, they said, paddy and corn crops also suffered damage at Mithbagh, Mori and its adjacent villages due to floods.
Meanwhile, the people of the area appealed government to compensate the losses and immediately repair the damaged bridge in the area.
