Budgam: Body of a man was fished out from a deep trench on Tuesday, Police said.
A CNS report quoting Police sources said Muhammad Ashraf had actually jumped into the trench to save two kids who had plunged in the water to beat the summer heat.
“Two school kids from Government Middle School Garend Budgam jumped into trench located near a brick kiln at Wahapora to beat the summer heat.
A local Muhammd Ashraf son of Muhammad Kazim rushed towards the well after one of the kids watching them sought help from the man to rescue his drowning friends.
Ashraf rescued both the kids but died himself after the rope that he used to save the children cut off and he slipped into the well, CNS reported while quoting police .
It is not yet known whether the Police has initiated the inquest into the incident.
