SRINAGAR: A joint party of army and Special Operation Group of Police (SOG) Saturday evening cordoned off the Zainpora area of Shopian and launched a search operation.
Official sources said that a joint team of Armys 62 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG of police cordoned off Haripora area of Zainpora in the district following the intelligence input about the presence militants.
As the joint team started combing operations, a gunshot was heard in the area, sources said, adding that even though the joint team intensified the searches, there was no retaliation.
When last reports came in the search operation was going on and no arrests were made either.
