Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested two officers, including a woman of a prominent insurance company while accepting a hefty bribe in Lal Chowk area of this capital city.
RK Goyal, Senior Divisional Manager, National Insurance Company Ltd and her colleague Nahida Gaffar were arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a claimant in Pratap Park, Lal Chowk, an official said.
He said both the officers were arrested while accepting the bribe for settling a claim of a customer, who died in a road accident in January 2020.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at CBI office in Srinagar and further investigation has been initiated in the matter, ” he added.
