Anantnag: An aged woman was killed when she was attacked by a bear at Mattan in Anantnag district on Monday evening, Police said. A CNS report, quoting Police, said that a bear attacked and killed a 70 years old lady Kartar Kour widow of Harnam Singh resident of Bangund Hutmurra near her residence in Mattan, Anantnag. Man-animal conflict rages across mountainous regions of Kashmir especially North and South Kashmir. Experts say the increasing human activity in forests and inside the wildlife habitats has caused migration of wild animals to the human inhabitations, causing the conflict.
