Srinagar- Cyber Police Kashmir Zone Srinagar on Saturday claimed to have succeeded in tracing and recovering 30 missing mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees.
The recovered phones were handed over to the rightful owners. “Apart from various cyber crimes which are being reported in Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone on routine basis, applications and reports from various complainants about missing of their cell phones are also received continuously,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
A dedicated technical team of Cyber Police Kashmir under the supervision of In-charge Cyber Police Kashmir is making constant efforts to trace out the missing mobile phones, besides helping the citizens in various cyber related challenges being faced by the citizens in their day to day life, it said.
Continuing its efforts to fulfill that commitment of helping general public, Cyber Police Kashmir during this month remained successful in tracing and recovering 30 such missing smart cellphones of various makes and models worth lakhs of rupees and subsequently handed over to the rightful owners today at Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone Srinagar, the statement said.
Pertinently, on the directions of IGP Kashmir Zone, various awareness campaigns and programs are being organized by the Cyber Police Kashmir to aware the general public about various contemporary online frauds, scams etc. and the modus operandi being used by fraudsters to cheat the gullible citizens.
Meanwhile, the general public appreciated and applauded the role and efforts of Cyber Police Kashmir in rendering such services to the general public.
Meanwhile, Cyber Police Station advised the people to remain extra cautious about strange phone calls and not to share their bank account/credit/ debit card or any other such valuable details with anybody on phone.
