Srinagar: Army on Tuesday said that Pakistan army violated ceasefire and fired upon Indian posts in Samba and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Army officials said that Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts in Lanjoite in Mendhar sector of Poonch districts. The Pakistani troops, while violating ceasefire, targeted Indian posts near Line of Control in Peali Puna, the army officials said adding following provocation by Pakistan, the Indian army has retaliated.
The firing continued from 11 am to 12 am, they said. The army officials said they have increased the patrolling along the LoC as Pakistan usually fires to help militants to infiltrate into this part.
After Poonch, the Indo-Pak forces exchanged fire in Samba sector, defence sources said.
The Pakistan violated ceasefire in Samba sector and fired at our posts, a defense source said, adding Indian army also retaliated.
