AWANTIPORA: A 7-A-Side Inter-Departmental Football Tournament, organised by the Directorate of Physical Education, Islamic University of Science and Technology kicked off at the University Campus here on Tuesday.
Registrar, IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal, while inaugurating the tournament as Chief Guest, congratulated and encouraged the students for their active participation in sports. He assured every possible support to students and department as well.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Department of Management Studies and Department of Food Technology. The high-scoring and electrifying match was won by the students of Management Studies by 5 goals to Food Technology’s 1.
Earlier, Assistant Director Physical Education, Dr Hilal Rather welcomed the Chief Guest and briefed those present on the occasion about the sporting activities that the Directorate will be conducting during the year 2021. He also hailed the hard work of the staff assisting in sports activities.
